An artist from birth, I have been creating smiles for almost 60 years. I grew up in the north woods of Wisconsin emulating the majesty of Mother Nature. For over 50 years I have had the privilege and extraordinary fortune to practice every medium the art world would bear unto me, and through this journey I have had the fortune of recognizing my failures, my talents, and my purpose.
Through personal and professional evolution my latest endeavors focus on my current passion, blacksmithing and concrete. Handcrafting iron and concrete into organically inspired abstract form with or without function is my prize.
Prescribed form and defined function are my enemies. The uneven drying of concrete is progress and the misguided blow of the hammer is unique. I don’t aim to forge another work; I aim to have fun. Fun and spontaneity are drivers with a synergistic zest for life and the creation of something new.
Drawing inspiration from the beaches of Florida, the mountains of Colorado, and the urban jungle of Bangkok I create what I miss, what I crave, what I dream. My art is my escape and my goal is to inspire. To bestow the joy of creation upon others is the ultimate feeling of accomplishment.
I challenge you to join me and find the spiritual freedom endowed by creation.
